Bi-stable switches

Category:

Description

A bi-stable switch in an elevator is a safety and control component that maintains one of two stable positions (like “on” or “off”) without continuous power, making it energy-efficient and reliable. These switches are used for critical functions like monitoring floor level, door interlocks, and safety systems, such as the speed governor which detects an emergency and must be manually reset to restart operation.
